A2D COMPANY is an elite group of dancers who are not only talented, but also great role models for A2D and the community. A2D company dancers participate in several events throughout the year, like competitions, fundraisers & performances.  Dance Competitions are a major activity in the dance world.  It offers stage experience, a fun way to show one’s hard work, education by observing other students from other areas, friendship and self -confidence.  ADDICTED 2 DANCE COMPANY offers COMPANY classes to the students who want to be performers and are motivated to do his/her best. They must also demonstrate a good attitude toward correction; have good attendance; be punctual, are serious dancers and have a healthy attitude toward being a company dancer as well as other teammates. 

 

To be on the company team is a privilege therefore; admissions to these classes are by invitation and audition only, which takes place during the summer.  Once in a group a student does not necessarily remain in that particular group for his/her entire schooling. A student moves at his/her own rate of development determined by the instructor.  If your dancer does not make it on to a company team, they may be asked to take a pre-company class designed to help those students motivated and determined to better their abilities and eventually compete.  This class works on jumps, turns, technique, spotting, etc.  They should take this class in addition to any other classes the instructor recommends for your dancer to become stronger.  The pre-company class does not guarantee that your dancer will be put on a company team the following year.  However it will motivate and strengthen your dancer in the areas he or she need.

  

Students in this program are exposed to all disciplines of dance. Each student is required to take a ballet class, technique class & your company class. This is a total of 3 classes for A2D COMPANY.   (MINI COMPANY requirements are a ballet class and their company class- totaling 2 classes).  A dancers education is expanded by the opportunity to study other styles of dance.  The Company Teams are committed to between 3-4 mandatory competitions & conventions a year.  We do not know on which day the dancers will be performing until the week of the actual competition; therefore you would have to leave your entire weekend available.  If you cannot commit to the competition rules and regulations as well as attendance in class, then being a company dancer is not for you.

 

Solos, duets and trios are by invitation only.

 

Attendance is crucial in this program and only 3 classes will be excused.  If you are not feeling well you should come to class and watch.  After you have missed 3 classes you may be asked to leave the class for the remainder of the year.  There are no refunds to costumes, tuition or fundraising. 

 

We know how expensive costumes, recording studio fees and competition fees can be.  Therefore, competition fundraisers will be set up to provide financial support to our dancers!  We ask that all company team members participate in the fundraisers.  Remember it’s a team effort!  If any parents are interested in being involved in organizing fundraisers for our dancers please contact the studio director.
